During my inspection of FloridaBassLakes.com, I noticed that there is excellent content about Florida bass fishing free lake maps. If I were a bass fisherman, I could certainly see why this site would be useful. Unfortunatly, I'm not as keen on some other aspects of the site. First of all there doens't appear to be a template in place to keep all of the content themed. Placement of the advertisements make the page very difficult to flow, and I suspect readers will lose interest quickly. Fotunatly, the site is packed full of key phrase rich content, bolded for emphasis, and great internal link structure with key phrases in the anchor text should prove to be effective in search engine index placement.

Looking over this site with content regarding Florida bass fishing tips, I have some mixed reviews. On one hand, it has a very clean template, with a nice navigational menu, supurb niche content, search engine friendly URLs, and a reasonable attempt at keyphrase enriched internal anchor text link structure. It also never hurts to be WC3 XHTML compliant. However, I do see a few glaring weaknesses. First, I can't help but notice the lack of use of the alt or title tags in links or images. IMO, this is a huge oversight, as alt and title tags are generally regarded as being one of the top 10 search engine optimization techniques.

Here's my personal favorite Web Directory. If for nothing else, the Free phpLD Mods and the free phpld template categories is enough to do it for me. I also love the fact that it is WC3 XHTML valid, and that they offer a plethera of features, including a 'site of the day', and the 'latest world news' rss feed. They also provide a list of todays 'top referrers', as well as 'all time top referrers'. And they have some pretty cool sort functions, such as the most visited websites, and the latest featured websites. Other directory owners should take note, this is the way to approach building a directory.

Recently, I've stumbled upon the MadMouse Directory. This directory is unique in that it offers spam free paid submissions, and it is human edited. Submitting to this web directory will invariably improve your link popularity, as it boasts a page rank of 3, and employs search engine friendly URLs. THey also feature deep link features, and they provide multiple deep links when you purchase a featured listing. Another nice feature is that all listings are provided with a page rank indicator.
