Does Search Engine Optimization Outperform Sponsored Listings?
White Hat SEO, Black hat, and even Grey hat SEO, we've heard allot about ethical search engine optimization and integrated online marketing over the past few years. Webmaters everything are pouring hours into optimizing every little alt tags, every meta title, keyword proximity, and dozens of other search engine optimization tricks they've learned over the years. but when all is said and done, does all that work on search engine optimization really outperform the good old fashion sponsored listing advertising in terms of bringing traffic to your site?
Surprisingly, SEO falls short of the kind of instant gratification you can bring a site using sponsored listings. However, it is a heck of a lot more affordable. for practically nothing other than time invested, you can optimize a website for two medium sized key words together in a key phrase, and within a couple of days, see some organic traffic as the result. Unfortunately, you can only do so much with SEO. Very highly competitive key phrases will already have pages and pages of websites optimized all competing to get on the front page of the search engine listing, and the only way to leapfrog them will be to use a sponsored listing.
