Letters to You Review
Today, we were asked to Review LTY, otherwise known as 'Letters-to-You.com'. LTY is a portfolio of sorts, offering several examples of graphic design and photography. The first and most important thing I'll say about this site is that the graphics are stunning. I had intended to only spend a few minutes on the site while I wrote the review, but I ended up staying there, looking at image after image for well over an hour. Bravo on the work being displayed there.
As for the rest of the site, I'd say it's a pretty mixed bag of good and bad. There are several things I like. for example, the color scheme is terrific, and the header image is beautiful. However, the site isn't organized as efficiently as if could be. When i read the opening paragraph, the first thing that jumped out at me was 'We have over 60 Tutorials'. I thought to myself, "wow, that would be nice to look through" and I immediately started looking for the link. I looked in the right column first, and the the navigation bar across the top, but neither appeared to offer a link to the tutorials. Eventually, I did find the link, it was beneath the opening article. There are a few other organizational problems with the site as well, as it just wasn't easy to get a quick overview of the site in the hierarchical structure I was expecting.
Other than that, the site definitely has allot going for it. quality content is the most important aspect of any website, and this one has that in abundance. if you're interested in graphic design or photography, I highly recommend checking this one out.
